Elisha Clark Halpin
Elisha Clark Halpin is the Head of the Dance Program & Associate Professor of Dance at Penn State University. Halpin graduated Pi Kappa Phi with her MFA in Performance & Choreography from The Ohio State University. She has taught at Ohio State, Kenyon College, Wittenberg University, Radford University, & SUNY Brockport. She is the Artistic Director of ETCH Dance Co. & collaborates regularly with Anne Burnidge. In 2006, Halpin was an Emerging Choreographer at the Bates Dance Festival. She has returned each year since as a Resident Artist. Halpin was awarded a Pennsylvania Partnership in the Arts grant in 2006. She has received funding from the Penn State
Institute for the Arts & Humanities & The President's Fund. Halpin's choreographic investigations use the body as a text; using autobiography, ethnicity, & identity as ways to develop context and construct metaphors in the creation of contemporary dance.
