Conversation Box

The Conversation Box is a tool that allows sound, specifically peoples’ voices, to play a dominating role in a space. By exposing pieces from Overheard@PSU, a website that curates the most interesting, obscene or taboo fragments of conversations heard at Penn State, we see how sounds that are generally unnoticed can create interest when composed in a certain manner. When the Conversation Box was placed in various sites around campus, the conversations that were once ignored became a spectacle.
